Who dominated the headlines this year
for everything from her Twerk-tastic show performance at the VMAs to her
random risqué fashion choice? One and only Miley Cyrus, was she a
stylish trendsetter icon or just plain ol’ outrageous character?
What we can expect for 2014 and the
style trends of the year are weighed by Leslie Fremer, who has
previously worked with Scarlett Johansson, Reese Witherspoon and
Charlize Theron.
The Most Powerful Stylist by The
Hollywood Reporter, Leslie knows what she is talking about and let me
assure you she means business. As we are heading toward New Year eve,
with the help of 100 million users of ask.com, she conclude a list of
what’s hot and what’s not and she is glad to share this amazing top 5
style trend prediction with Glam Slam readers.
For 2014, Thе Top Five Style Trends will be:
Rock Star Style:
Arguably the biggest style event of the
year, The Met ball, has a theme which is definitely a crossover demeanor
from 2013 to 2014. After the Met Ball event, search trend on Ask.com
for these styles were skyrocket, and this activity trend remained
stable, which indicates that the crossover demeanor echoed everywhere
from the red carpet to the street.
Both accessible and high end designers
are producing stunning looks, from Tom Ford and Versace to H&M and
All Saints. I just only recently helped one of my client and friend,
Julianne Moore, find an exquisite red sequined Tom Ford dress for the
CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund event, and she looked stunning.
Adorned Fashion:
With pleats, ruffles and art becoming
ubiquitous on and off the red carpet, Simplicity іѕ out (fοr many). The
designers are really favoring audacious details, from mural art on
Prada’s Spring 2014 collection, to ruffles at Yves Saint Laurent, to Dior’s pleats. But you don’t require a healthy bank balance or a fat check book to adopt these styles.
Big clothing retail stores like Zara, Target
and H&M are all offering the very same top trendy stylish
embroidered pieces that influence the people on and off the red carpet.
In fact the celebrities like Nicky Hilton and Jessica Alba were seen
wearing Phillip Lim for Target comic book-inspired BOOM sweater.
Designer Collaborations:
There is nothing new about designer’s collaboration, actually a few people aware of the fact that back in 2004, Karl Lagerfeld
did a collection for H&M. So in this coming 2014 you may not see a
brand new top style trends, but it sure will be a big year for these
types of collaborations, results in the availability of top notch
quality products for the masses without a heavy price tag.
Personally I loved these hottest
designer’s collaborations in coming 2014, from Phillip Lim’s collection
for Target, to Anna Dello Russo and Isabel Marant’s collections for
H&M, all of which will sold out almost at once. And the launch of
these lines reflected by most searched trend shown by ask.com in 2013.
With Kate Moss newly reformed
partnership with Topshop and Beyonce signing an contract with H&M, I
can bet that in coming year we will surely see incredible collections
from both brands. I envision that there will be same rock star style
trend will be seen in coming year as well.
Crop:
This season we witnessed crop top and
midriff-bearing styling trend are making their way onto the red carpets
(Scarlett Johansson), stages (I probably don’t need to remind anyone
about Miley Cyrus) and runways (from Phillip Lim to Balenciaga) and trend will continue in coming year as well.
What’s interesting and not at all
surprising, is that, these trendy look won’t be much of a success in the
general public. Many questions ignited on Ask.com late this year, then
just fade away. Also the site surveyed it’s users, and concluded that
only 25% users are willing to adopt this crop look.
Flats:
This year, from Chloe and Prada to the
Birkenstock, flat sandals will make a comeback as a stylish fashion
trend. I often suggests using flats to my clients, even on the red
carpet (because of her astonishing stature, Charlize Theron
wears flats on the red carpet perfectly). As many brands are offering
trendy stylish looks, everybody, including celebrities, prefer
comfortable over heels, without giving up their flattering outfit.c
