THE opening of the Garden Museum's Fashion &
Gardens exhibition called for a suitably chic event
that, like the exhibit, brought together representatives from
the worlds of style and horticulture.
Nicola Shulman, curator of the exhibition, and Vogue's
Alexandra Shulman hosted the evening, where guests mingled amongst
the installations featuring pieces by the likes of Burberry,
Alexander McQueen, Valentino and Vivienne Westwood. Instagram feeds
were filled with images of Rebecca Louise Law's meadow of blooms
dripping from the ceiling of the former ancient church, which was
saved from demolition when it was converted to the museum
space.
Many of the guests were suitably-attired in
dresses bursting with florals. Daisy Lowe's Dolce & Gabbana
prom dress was painted with cherry
blossoms, while a quartet of models - Lara
Mullen, Millie Brady, Diana Khullina and Evangeline Ling
- wore dresses by Mary Katrantzou, Matthew Williamson and
Christopher Kane, all adorned with a bouquet of
blooms.
